NEW UPGRADED MOUNT!

New thicker wings! Optional rail locating pin! Quick detach thumb nut you can also use an Allen wrench or screwdriver only!

Offset, 45° mount provides on-bore axis mounting for fast point-and-shoot sight placement. Clamps to the flattop receiver rail behind your primary optic; simply roll the rifle to the right or left, acquire your target with the red dot, and fire. Reversible base plate accepts a wide range of mini red dot sights, including Burris FastFire, J-Point, Trijicon RedDot, Tasco Optima, Firepoint, Docter, and Fowler/Pride. Precision machined from lightweight aluminum; removable guard wings protect the sight from impact and damage. Fits any MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny or Weaver-style rail.

** While the platform comes set up for right handers; left handers may use the same Generation 2 Burkett offset mount by reversing the platform so the mount would be on the left side of the weapon, by then also reversing the "wings" rear to front, and mounting the optic, the weapon can then be canted to their weak side for use.

"The simplest and best-designed 45-degree mini red-dot mount I’ve ever seen comes from Predator Tactical, started by professional shooter Matt Burkett.  Burkett has won just about every 3-Gun title there is, and PT’s Gen 2 Burkett Offset mount has everything you need and nothing you don’t to mount a mini red-dot to your rifle as a back-up sight.  Note that I said rifle, not main optic, because the Predator Tactical Gen 2 Offset Mount has a quick detach base which clamps directly onto the top rail of your AR.  It is low enough (protruding just 3/8” above the rail) to fit under any optic you might be using, and is entirely constructed of thick 4140 hard-anodized aluminum.

If you want to switch main optics, go right ahead, the beauty of the PT design is that it is an independent mount, and it is reversible for left or right side mounting—in fact, it can be mounted anywhere there is a rail.  The mount features a platform on the side tilted at exactly a 45-degree angle with wings on either side to protect the mini red-dot.  It is beefy, but because of its size it still only weighs 4 ounces.  There are versions of the Gen 2 Burkett Offset Mount to fit just about every brand of mini red-dot including most new models (such as the Trijicon RMR), and I obtained one which fit the Insight MRDS I had on hand.  The mount retails for $139.95.

Shooting an AR with an angle-mounted mini red-dot sight does not feel normal in your hands, on your shoulder, or to your eyes, but it does not feel nearly as wrong as you might think, either. You probably won’t be able to wring the kind of accuracy out of it as you would with the same sight mounted directly atop the rifle, but remember, this is a back-up sighing system to be used at distances too close to use your main optic.  As such, this system works very well, and the Predator Tactical Gen 2 offset Mount is the best of the breed."(Jim Tarr - Shotgun News Dec. 5th, 2011)

The 45 degree offset makes for a smooth and FAST transition between long range, and the up-close and personal shots. The mounts side cages have kept the DOCTR sight not only zeroed, but helps keep the optic clean and free of debris while crawling and shooting from ground positions.

We will keep trying to break this thing. Its very durable and the nice thing is that nothing is proprietary! Which means we can use tools common to the battlefield to adjust or tighten if necessary! Not many companies do that these days for us. Great looking out for the soldiers!

I've tried EVERY mount out there, and this is definitely a solid option. You cannot go wrong with this product as one of the beauties of it is that you can tell Matt asked all the right questions during design, as it answers them in spades. Great job and a great product!!!

Review:
I tried every off set mount available. There were issues with all of them. From too high, wouldn't fit under scope, turrets were in the field of view for the mini reddot, & other problems. But when I saw Matt's mount on Shooting USA I knew then that was the correct mount. I works perfectly, no obstructions, and you only need to slightly cant your rifle to line it up with your eye without lifting your cheek off of the stock. Very quick. It's mounted on a flat top.
